Cats are particular. So are we.
Cats hide their stress. They hide their stiffness. They hide almost everything until the signs are too big to miss — the cat who suddenly stops greeting you at the door, the senior who's not jumping to her favorite window anymore, the new rescue who lives under the bed for a month. By the time most cat owners go looking for support, the cat has been telling them quietly for a while.
Like dogs, cats have an endocannabinoid system — a network of receptors that helps the body regulate calm, comfort, and balance. CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring compound from the hemp plant that gently supports normal function of this system. It's not sedation. It's not a personality change. It's quieter, more like the cat you already know, with a little less edge.
VetCBD's full-spectrum tincture is formulated by Dr. Tim Shu, DVM — a licensed veterinarian with more than a decade of experience with medical cannabis for animals — and it's built on an organic extra virgin olive oil base specifically because cats deserve a gentle, clean carrier. (Many essential oils that are common in human wellness products can be harmful to cats; olive oil is not one of them.) Triple-tested by independent labs. NASC certified. Designed for the most particular pets in the house.
Four areas of support — quiet, gentle, daily.
Calm & Emotional Balance
Helps maintain calm during vet visits, travel, fireworks, and changes in the home.
Joint Comfort & Mobility
Supports comfortable movement in older cats — for the cat who's slowing down on the leap to the windowsill.
Daily Wellness
Helps maintain normal GI function and supports overall everyday wellbeing.
Non-Sedating Support
Designed to keep your cat herself — alert, curious, present. Just more at ease.
The science, in plain language.
Cats — like dogs, horses, and humans — have an endocannabinoid system (ECS). It's a regulatory network that helps the body return to balance after stress, support recovery, and maintain everyday comfort. Cannabinoids in hemp interact with this system gently, supporting the work the ECS is already doing.
There's one important difference for cat owners to know: cats have fewer cannabinoid receptors than dogs do. That doesn't mean CBD doesn't work for cats — it does — but it does mean cats often need a slightly higher dose per pound of body weight than dogs. We cover that in the dosage section below.
VetCBD's tincture for cats (and dogs) is full-spectrum, which means it contains the full range of naturally occurring cannabinoids in hemp, including less than 0.3% THC per federal law. Full-spectrum extracts deliver what's known as the "entourage effect" — the cannabinoids and terpenes working together support the ECS more completely than CBD alone.
Our base oil is organic extra virgin olive oil — chosen for two reasons. First, olive oil contains long-chain triglycerides (LCTs) which research suggests support better cannabinoid absorption than the MCT oil that most CBD brands use. Second, olive oil is a gentle, neutral carrier with a long history of safe use in cats. Unlike certain essential oils — which can be harmful to cats and should be avoided — olive oil is one of the safest carrier choices for feline use.
Most cats experience stress more often than their owners realize.

How much CBD for your cat?
A starting framework, not a prescription. Always consult your veterinarian for guidance specific to your cat.
Cats need slightly more CBD per pound of body weight than dogs do, because cats have fewer cannabinoid receptors. A reasonable starting point for most cats is around 4 mg of CBD per 10 lbs of body weight, given twice daily, eight to twelve hours apart. Watch your cat over the first two weeks. If you'd like to adjust up or down, our team can talk you through it on a free consult with Dr. Shu's veterinary team.

| Cat Weight | Suggested Starting Amount | Drops (250mg / 1 fl oz) |
|---|---|---|
| Small (5 lbs) | ~2 mg / dose | ~3 drops |
| Average (10 lbs) | ~4 mg / dose | ~5 drops |
| Large (15 lbs) | ~6 mg / dose | ~7 drops |
| Extra large (20+ lbs) | ~8 mg / dose | ~10 drops |
Suggested starting amounts only. Twice daily, 8–12 hours apart. Consult your veterinarian for guidance specific to your cat — especially if your cat is on medication, is a kitten, or is pregnant/nursing.

What "triple-tested" actually means.
Every batch of VetCBD's tincture is tested by independent third-party labs across three categories: cannabinoid potency (so the milligrams on the label match what's in the bottle), purity (no heavy metals, no residual solvents, no pesticides — especially important for cats, who are more sensitive to environmental toxins than dogs), and microbial safety (no harmful microbial contamination). Certificates of Analysis are publicly available — every batch, every product.
The NASC quality seal on our products means VetCBD is audited by the National Animal Supplement Council against industry quality standards. We've been doing this since 2015 — long before pet CBD was mainstream.
View Latest COAWhy we built this with cats specifically in mind.
Many "pet CBD" products are dog products that mention cats on the label. We thought about cats from the formulation up. Our base oil is organic extra virgin olive oil, not MCT — chosen partly because of better cannabinoid absorption, and partly because olive oil is one of the safest carriers for cats. Many common essential oils used in human and even some pet wellness products are toxic to cats. Olive oil is not.
Our tincture comes with a plastic syringe for precise dosing — it won't shatter if your cat decides to bite it, and a few extra drops on a dropper can mean the difference between the right dose and too much. Most cats accept the tincture on a small piece of wet food, on a treat, or directly in the mouth via the syringe.
And because cats need more CBD per pound than dogs do, our strengths (250mg, 500mg, 1000mg) give you the flexibility to match the dose to your cat's size and sensitivity without overpaying for a strength you don't need or underdosing a larger cat.
