A Note From Our Founder

My passion has always been to improve the lives of animals. It’s ultimately what led me to pursue veterinary medicine. As a medical professional, one of my priorities is investigating and developing new therapies that can benefit pets. Humans have used cannabis to improve their lives for thousands of years, and through research and trials, I realized those same benefits can help pets live better lives too.

In 2015 I founded VetCBD with one goal in mind: to improve the lives of pets through cannabis. Since then we’ve helped tens of thousands of pets find relief through the formulations I’ve developed.

Our full-spectrum CBD oil is extracted from premium American hemp rich in CBD and a bouquet of other beneficial phytocannabinoids such as CBC and CBG. Per the 2018 Farm Bill, our extracts are only sourced from industrial hemp, ensuring every batch contains less than 0.3% THC.

Triple Tested

Our products are rigorously tested through every stage of the production process from accredited state-licensed labs. Not only do we check for potency, but we also test for pesticides, solvents, heavy metals, mycotoxins, and bacteria to ensure safety and quality in all our products.

Precise, Mess-Free Dosing

Our tinctures come with an oral syringe instead of a traditional dropper, making dosing more precise, consistent, and mess-free. The syringe allows you to measure the exact amount every time, ensuring clean and accurate administration for your pet’s needs.

Why Olive Oil?

We use organic extra virgin olive oil as our carrier oil as it features a multitude of benefits. As a long-chain triglyceride (LCT) oil, it actually delivers better bioavailability for cannabinoids when used as the carrier oil for CBD extract. Here, it helps the cannabinoids get absorbed into the lymphatic system which more readily delivers them into systemic circulation.

Dr. Tim Shu

Founder & CEO

Dr. Tim Shu, a veterinarian and VetCBD’s founder and CEO, is dedicated to creating cannabinoid products that are safe and beneficial for pets. Combining his veterinary background and his expertise in medical cannabis, Dr. Shu is the mastermind behind crafting VetCBD’s products which are curated specifically for animals. As CEO, he also manages the company’s direction and strategy, and oversees research and development, marketing, sales and customer support. Dr. Shu’s work on cannabis and pets has garnered international attention and has been featured on The Today Show, CNBC, The New York Times, and others.

Charis Fifield

President

Charis Fifield is President at VETCBD. Charis seeks new opportunities for growth and partnerships to help spread brand awareness and education. Educating people on the health and well being of animals has been the focus behind all of Charis’s endeavors. She brings creativity, drive and leadership while thriving on challenges; particularly those that help expand the company’s reach.

Prior to joining VETCBD, Charis worked in private and corporate veterinary practices as a Hospital Director and Veterinary Nurse for over 25 years. Charis brings her comprehensive knowledge of veterinary medicine and her passion for education, learning, and animals to VETCBD in order to bring comfort to all animals through cannabinoid therapy.

Mike Melillo

Head of Sales

A leader within the Consumer Product Goods space with a passion for pushing the limits and creating new categories, Mike has helped mainstream and build several categories from CBD to Sleep Aids. During his 20-year tenure within the CPG sector, Mike has helped shape countless brands, and retailers, through his leadership, branding and retail expertise.

Mike is the father of 3 beautiful girls, 2 of which are identical twins, and enjoys spending time taking them to Mauy Thai, Art Class and Piano Class. His only pet is their long time Beta Fish whose name is Flounder.

Sara Lozano

Animal Wellness Manager

Meet Sara Lozano, our dedicated Animal Wellness Manager at VetCBD. With over 15 years of experience in Customer Service, Sara effectively manages our customer service phone line and emails. Passionate about animals and the healing power of cannabinoid therapy, she strives to provide exceptional care and support. Sara’s genuine empathy and commitment to continuous learning make her an invaluable member of our team, ensuring that both pets and their owners receive the best guidance and assistance.
