About Our Veterinarian
Dr. Tim Shu, DVM — Founder of VetCBD Hemp
Licensed veterinarian. Pioneer of medical cannabis for animals. Personally formulates every VetCBD product. Available for free, one-on-one consultations with pet parents — no chatbot, no script.
Why a Veterinarian Founded VetCBD
Dr. Tim Shu started VetCBD in 2015 — long before the 2018 Farm Bill made hemp CBD legal nationwide. He saw firsthand what pet parents were buying off shelves and recognized two problems most brands still ignore today: dosing was unreliable, and almost no one selling these products had the medical training to advise responsibly.
So he built the company he wished existed: one where the founder is a real veterinarian, every product is veterinarian-formulated, every batch is third-party tested, and any pet parent can pick up the phone and talk to him directly.

How Dr. Shu Formulates VetCBD Products
Every VetCBD tincture, chew, and equine formula starts at Dr. Shu's bench. He selects the carrier oil (organic extra virgin olive oil for better absorption and shelf stability than MCT), validates the CBD:THC ratio against animal-physiology research, and signs off on each Certificate of Analysis before product ships.
This is why VetCBD reads "veterinarian-formulated" — not "vet-approved." There's a meaningful difference, and pets deserve the harder one.
Free, Personal Vet Consultations
Most pet supplement companies route customer questions to a generic email queue. VetCBD does it differently: Dr. Shu and his team offer free one-on-one consultations to any pet parent who wants help with dosing, product selection, or understanding how CBD interacts with their pet's existing care plan.
